COOKING CLASSES

Meals Made Simple specializes in custom designed cooking classes conducted in private homes. We can do private one-on-one lessons, group demonstrations, hands-on classes, or interactive dinner parties where everyone participates in the creation of the meal. Different ethnic cuisines, full course meals, baking, themed dinners, you name it - we can make it happen! Cooking classes are perfect for new brides, tweens and teens, college students moving away from home, and anyone wanting to sharpen their cooking skills.


COOKING CLASSES HELD AT THE FLOUR POT KITCHEN IN ARLINGTON: 
(Meals Made Simple has partnered with The Flour Pot Kitchen to bring you some great classes.  Check out the beautiful home kitchen at www.facebook.com/flourpotkitchen. All hands on classes have a max of 12 persons.  Payment by cash or check made to Meals Made Simple. If you must cancel for any reason, we will refund your payment or credit you for another class which ever your prefer, if recieved 48 hours prior to date of class.  Cancellations made within 48 hours of class will be non-refundable.)


May 18th - Sensational Southwest      6:30-9:30     $50 + tax
Contemporary Southwest cuisine is on the menu.  New Mexico Rubbed Pork Tenderloin with Bourbon Ancho Sauce and a Smoked Red Pepper Sauce; Chipotle Black Beans; Cabbage Cilantro Slaw and Sweet and Spicy Cornbread.  Ride the flavor train!!  Contact Meals Made Simple or Kary Marshman at 206.714.6062 for details.

June 9th - Quick and Easy Weekday Suppers    5:30-8:30     $45 + tax
Drive-thru and frozen dinners are out!  These quick fix meals will help you put healthy and delicious meals on the table in no time!  We'll be preparing Rotisserie Chicken Orzo soup with Buttermilk Biscuits, Italian Sausage and Sweet Cherry Ttomato Bake with Parmesan Polenta, and Pesto Turkey Burgers with Roasted Vegetables and a quick fix dessert.  Get tips on knife skills and quick fix pantry ideas too!

July 14th- Thrill of the Grill    5:00 - 8:00   $50 + tax
Eventually the sun WILL come out! So get your grill ready, we've got an amazing, flavor packed menu planned. Tuscan Grilled Steak, Papaya Lime Glazed Shrimp, fresh from the martket-Grilled Vegetables and Fresh Berries with Lavendar Honey Ice Cream on Grilled Pound Cake. Don't miss this class!

July 17th - Kids in the Kitchen      10:00 - 12:00 PM       $25 + tax
This class is all about getting kids to feel comfortable in the kitchen.  We'll be teaching basic knife skills, how to clean and cut a variety of fruits and vegetables and some food safety tips.  They'll be making Chicken Noodle Soup, Grilled Tomato and Cheese Sandwich, Spagetti and Meatballs and Cookie Dough Pizza.  YUM!  (Class is for kids ages 10 and up, one adult can accompany each child)

August 28th  - Gluten Free and Delicious     6:00 - 9:00       $45 + tax
If you are eating a gluten free diet, you don't want to miss this class!  We'll be sharing lots of information on stocking a gluten free pantry with our favorite, best tasting products.  Create delicious meals like Thai Chicken Pizza, Gluten Free Pasta with a Simple Tomato Sauce, Quinoa Grain Salad, an All- Purpose Gluten Free Flour, and Sweet Treats.  Who knew gluten free could taste so good!

September 17th - Dinner Made Simple   10:00 - 1:00  $150 + tax
5 nights of dinner prepared in just a few hours.  Just heat and serve!  Class size limited to 8 people.  Tentative menu will be Chicken with Rice and Beans, Asian Marinated Flank Steak, Baked Ziti, Pasta Fagioli, and Chicken Teriyaki with Coconut Scallion Rice.  Take home 5 meals and 5 great recipes! Please bring your own containers to take home with you.

September 22nd - The Flavors of Greece      5:30 - 8:30      $50 + tax
Most of us will never get to visit Greece but this is the next best thing!  This menu is full of the unique flavors of Greece - fresh, healthy, and mouth-watering!  We'll be cooking up Lemon Herb Marinated Leg of Lamb, Tzatziki Sauce, Fresh Grilled Pita Bread, Greek Roasted Potatoes and Tomato Cucumber Salad.  This is hands down one of my all-time favorite meals!

Having a special party and need help pulling it all together? Or simply want to enjoy the party WITH your guests? Leave the stress of shopping for, prepping, preparing, serving and cleaning up to Meals Made Simple. Your dinner will be as much fun for you as it will be for your guests. Perfect for a show stopper dinner party with friends, anniversaries, family holiday meals, birthday parties, Valentine’s Day, baby showers, date night in, special dinner for newlyweds and new or expectant parents!

Every menu is customized to give it your special touch and to work with your budget. Meals Made Simple has hundreds of dishes to choose from so it will be perfect. I offer both Invisible Chef and Full Service options:  

Invisible Chef Service – I will prepare everything in advance and you can choose to heat and set up yourself or have me stay to do that, either way you will have detailed serving instructions and I’ll leave before your guests arrive.
Full Chef Service – I prepare the entire meal and stay to help serve and do the clean-up.



NUTRITION AND WEIGHT LOSS SUPPORT

I am a firm believer in the fact that dieting isn't the answer to weight loss - changing your diet is.

For many of us, what we eat is controlled by so many factors other than simply knowing what is healthy for us. Many of us want to change what we are eating but don’t have the time or skills to make better choices. This service walks you through basic nutrition so it makes sense, what to look for on food labels and why, and what are considered Superfoods and how they can amp up your health and energy. This service can also evaluate what's in your pantry and show you how to stock it for quick fix meals that are healthy.  I suggest great tasting swap outs for the highly processed, ready- to- eat foods people normally buy.  In addition, many clients request that I prepare weekly menu plans complete with recipes and shopping lists.  They do the cooking themselves but have a plan to help them stay on track and have healthy food at the ready.

I have the unique combination of holding both an ACE personal trainer certification and APPCA personal chef certification. I welcome the opportunity to help you and your family achieve optimal health through food!
